Transitive and intransitive forms are forms of verbs.
If a verb has an object associated with the action directly, then it is a transitive verb. We do not use a proposition between verb and the object in this case.
If a verb does not have an object associated with the action directly, then it is an intransitive verb. we need to use a proposition between verb and the object.
