Translatory Motion or Linear motion is motion along a straight line, and can therefore be described mathematically using only one spatial dimension. It can be uniform, that is, with constant velocity (zero acceleration), or non-uniform, that is, with a variable velocity (non-zero acceleration).

Explanation:

When a body is shifted or moved from one point to another point, then the body said to be experienced translational motion. It is the motion in which all points of a moving body move uniformly in the same line or direction.

Few examples of translational motion or translatory motion are:-

Man walking

Car or bus moving.

Boat sailing in the sea.

Cat walking.

A stone falling straight towards the surface of the earth.

It can be uniform, that is, with constant velocity (zero acceleration), or non-uniform, that is, with a variable velocity (non-zero acceleration)
