here is your answer..

As a private tutor of physics and mathematics, it had been my experience that translatory and rotatory motion used to confuse students. For a particle, which is concept in physics, there is nothing like a rotatory motion. Particles have only translatory motion which may be rectilinear along a straight line or curvilinear along a curved path.A solid body can have translatory or rotatory motion or even a mixed motion. To judge if the body has pure translatory motion, if a line joining any two particles of it remain parallel to itself during the motion, then the body is undergoing translatory motion. Such a pure translatory motion may be rectilinear or curvilinear.

Translational motion is the motion by which a body shifts from one point in space to another. One example of translational motion is the themotion of a bullet fired from a gun. An object has a rectilinear motion when it moves along a straight line.
