Translocation is the process by which carbohydrates produced by the leaves and intended for distribution to various parts of the plant are moved. The phloem cells are where the translocation process occurs. Companion cells, sieve components, and parenchymatous tissue would therefore be the cell types involved.

The route taken by food as it moves throughout the plant:

1. It is the movement of nutrients and other materials from the entire plant's leaves to other tissues.

2. Photosynthesis allows plants to produce carbohydrates in their leaves, other organic and inorganic substances are also needed by non-photosynthetic plant parts.

3. Nutrient sources become sinks as a result of this.

4. Growing leaves, roots, stems, fruits, and flowers are some significant sinks.

5. The most significant digestive tissue of plants, known as the phloem transport system, is where translocation takes place.

6. In a fluid known as phloem liquid, nutrients are transported to the phloem as solutes.

7. Translocations can happen both up and down.

8. The main physical factors that contribute to sap rising are simple ones like transpiration.
