Transpiration :

In simple words, transpiration is the process through which the roots transfer water  to other aerial parts of the plant which is then evaporated to the atmosphere.

The two main functions of transpiration are,

  • It is responsible in providing cooling effect to the plant.
  • It plays a major role in transportation of water and other essential minerals from the roots to stomata for the process of photosynthesis.
