The process by which the water moves through a plant and gets evaporated from the leaves is known as transpiration.  

Explanation:

This is a fundamental reason for the survival of plants and it has many advantages.

Primarily, this enables the plants to stay hydrated and enables them to make their food with the help of sunlight, carbon dioxide, and chlorophyll and hence help them to survive and secondly, this process helps to maintain the level of gases and water in the atmosphere and is therefore responsible for the sustenance of the whole living world.
