We know plants absorb mineral nutrients and water from the soil. Some water is absorbed and some are not. The water evaporated through the stomata present on the surface of the leaves. This is called transpiration. Transpiration generates a force which pulls up water absorbed by the roots from the soil to reach the stem and the leaves. Transpiration cools the plant.
