Triple fusion only happens in the case of angiosperms since they have a proper male and female gametes that fertilize together inside the female gametophyte to produce seeds.
When the nuclei of the male gamete enters the female gametophyte then it first reacts with the two egg cell nuclei and then the other nuclei of the male gamete reacts with the central cell which results in the double fertilization or the triple fusion.
