The movement in plants in a particular direction is known as tropism.Various stimulus are seen in growing plant shoot (phototropism), gravitational force as seen in downward movement of roots (geotropism), chemical stimulus as seen during the pollen tube growth (chemotropism) & movement in plant in response to water (hydrotropism).
are 4 types of tropism.they are
1.hydrotropism:plant growth in response to water
2.geotropism-The movement of a plant part in response to gravity
3.chemotropism:the plant which moves towards the chemical changes during its growth.
4.phototropism:The movement of a plant part in response to light is called phototropism
