The troposphere is the lowest layer of Earth's atmosphere, and is also where nearly all weather conditions take place. It is the place where all meteorological phenomena, climate and weather occur. It is important because it is in this place where there are higher levels of oxygen needed to survive. The troposphere is protected from the hard ultraviolet radiation of the Sun by the higher layers of the atmosphere, namely by the stratospheric ozone layer. Because of this protection, many molecules are more stable in the troposphere then elsewhere in the atmosphere. This protection makes life possible on Earth.
