  • It is spread through air and affects the lungs of the person.

  • It is caused due to Tubercle Bacillus discovered by a German scientist.⠀⠀⠀⠀

How it spreads?

Tuberculosis spreads in the following manner :

  • Through direct contact by patients.

  • The infection spreads by inhalation of droplets expelled by the patient through sneezing, coughing, yawning, speaking loudly etc.

  • Infected clothes, utensils other things etc . may spread the disease.

What are its symptoms?

The characteristics symptoms occur slowly.

Initially the patient feels-

  • Easily exhausted.
  • fatigued in doing ordinary work.
  • feels excessive weakness.
  • loss of appetite.
  • hoarness of throat.
  • pain in the chest due to infected lungs.
  • sweats profusely at night and feels weak.

How can we control or prevent it from spreading?

  • Workers of cotton and spinning mills, coalmines and tobacco bide making,etc should wear protective shield to prevent inhalation of dust or silica dust.
