various applications of ultrasound are:

1) it is used to get image of heart. it is called Echocardiography.

2) it is used to clean hard to reach parts of different machine parts.

3) it is used to detect flaws in any metal objects.

4) it is used to break stoned in gall bladder.

5) it is used for ultrasonography process.

6) it is used to measure the distance of seabed from surface by SONAR. the process is called echo ranging.

hope these helped ☺

A longitudinal wave whose frequency is greater than 20,000 Hz or 20 kHz are called Ultrasound Waves or Ultrasonic waves.

Generally these are generated by small sources such as quartz crystal.

As these are high frequency sound waves so they have short wavelengths

Human beings can't hear ultrasound but dogs dolphins and bats have an ability to hear these ultrasounds.

Ultrasound waves are directional in nature so they remain undeviated for longer-distances.

Applications :

The ultrasound waves audio are used various fields over a wide range. Some of the areas of applications are given below :

Endochardiography- Ultrasound waves play a role in constructing the image of the heart.

Sea depth Determination - By Use of Ultrasound waves and echo-sounding method, it is possible to determine the depth of the sea.

Crack detection - detection of cracks in metallic components is possible by the use of ultrasonic waves

Lithiotropsy- A method used to break the stones in kidney also uses these waves.

SONAR - SONAR, Sound Navigation, and Ranging is a technique in which sound waves are used to navigate, detect and communicate under the surface of the water.

Echolation- Echolocation is the process where sound waves and echoes are used to determine objects in space.

Generally Echolocation is used by bats to navigate and find their food in the dark.
