When an object ( or a body ) travels in a circle, it is known as circular motion. We can also say that, the motion contained in a circle is considered as Circular motion.

When an object travels in a circular path with a constant speed, the motion contained in such object is known as Uniform circular motion.

Examples of Uniform Circular Motion :-

  • Artificial satellites travels around the orbit of Earth in a uniform circular motion. The motion of satellite around the Earth is considered as accelerated motion.
  • The movement of Moon around the Earth is an example of uniform circular motion.
  • The earth revolves around the sun in uniform circular motion.
  • The tip of seconds' hand present in the clock shows uniform circular motion.
  • The movement and distance travelled by an athlete around a circular track with the uniform speed is an example of Uniform circular motion.
