If the speed of the particle moving in a circle is same, it is.said to be in uniform circular motion. Since the direction of the particle is changing every moment, its velocity is continuously changing. Thus, the motion of the body along circular path is an example of accelerated motion. This acceleration acts towards the centre of the circle and hence, called centripetal or radial acceleration.
