Lichens, ahh those unique, perfect creatures that we city guys have never seen and will not in the coming generations as well

Lichens are a type of fungi in association with algae. the type of association is called mutualism where both the organisms help each other (such cute, much wow). The uniqueness about lichens you say, they are the primary organisms to invade a land. They are responsible for primary succession (in case you don't know what primary succession is: it is where new organisms start to thrive in an uncultivated, previously not used land) and also, they act as pollution indicators. They only grow at a place where there is no pollution (priorities). So, if you find lichen growing on a tree somewhere in a city (which you'll never see), believe that the place is pollution free, fascinate yourself and appreciate the fact that they look after themselves with great determination than us
