Answer:

Amplitude is measured in metres ( ). The greater the amplitude of a wave then the more energy it is carrying. The wavelength, , of a wave is the distance from any point on one wave to the same point on the next wave along.

Q. What is unit of amplitude ?

  • Amplitude is the measure of the strength (or height) of a wave of some sort.

  • The units depend on what sort of wave you’re talking about - ie amplitude has no dimension in and of itself, just as North or South has no dimension.

  • So, if you’re surfing in the ocean, amplitude is measured in feet (how tall is that ocean wave).

  • If you are measuring sound, it’s measured in Bels or, more often Decibels (10ths of a Bel.)

  • If you’re measuring electrical waves (AC current), it’s voltage.
