Peroxisomes are microbodies which have enzymes for peroxide biosynthesis. They include peroxide producing oxidative enzymes like peroxidase, urate oxidase or uricase (hence, peroxisomes are also called as uricosome), amino acid oxidase and peroxide destroying enzymes catalase.
