Windows-1252 is a single byte encoding of the Latin alphabet, default in the legacy computers of Windows.

UTF-8 is a variable width character encoding of all 1,112,064 points in a Unicode using one and up to four 8-bits.

UTF-16 is a character encoder capable of encoding 1,112,064 valid code points of a Unicode. The encoding is variable length, as the code points are coded with two or more 16-bit code units.

iso-8859-1 (IEC-1:1998) is a 8 bit single byte coded graphic character set. The Latin Alphabet is a part of this.

Hope this helps :]
