The uveal tract is a layer of tissue located between the outer layer (cornea and sclera) and the inner layer (the retina) of the eye.

The uveal tract is deeply pigmented so that the iris also acts as a light screen to eliminate excessive light entering the lens and retina

Answer

The uveal tract is the middle layer of the eye, divided into the anterior uvea  and posterior uvea. The uvea is sandwiched between an outer layer and an inner layer.
