Answer:

It is a theory which describes chemical bonding. VBT states that the overlap of incompletely filled atomic orbitals leads to the formation of a chemical bond between two atoms. The unpaired electrons are shared and a hybrid orbital is formed.

Valence Bond theory describes covalent bond formation as well as the electronic structure of molecules. The theory assumes that electrons occupy atomic orbitals of individual atoms within a molecule, and that the electrons of one atom are attracted to the nucleus of another atom.Aug 15, 2020

Answer:

*Valance Bond Theory*

Explanation:

This theory was proposed by Heitler and London in the year 1927. Developed further by Pauling and Stater.

According to this theory atoms with unpaired electrons combine with eachother to form molecules. In this way the electrons are paired up and the participating atoms attain stable electronic arrangment. A covalent bond is formed by the pairing of electrons, one each from the participating atoms. The spins of the two electrons must be antiparallel.
