a^2-ka+1 is a quadratic equation and if in question it is given that roots of the quadratic equation are equal so we apply quadratic formula in it which is
b^2 - 4ac
Now when we put values we get....
(-k)^2 - 4(1)(1) = 0
k^2 - 4 = 0
k^2 = 4
k = â4
k = 2
b^2 - 4ac
Now when we put values we get....
(-k)^2 - 4(1)(1) = 0
k^2 - 4 = 0
k^2 = 4
k = â4
k = 2
