varnas:-

Varna contextually means "colour, race, tribe, species, kind, sort, nature, character, quality, property" of an object or people in some Vedic and medieval texts. Varna refers to four social classes in the Manusmriti.

Varna system:-

Varna system is the social stratification based on the Varna, caste. Four basic categories are defined under this system - Brahmins (priests, teachers, intellectuals), Kshatriyas (warriors, kings, administrators), Vaishyas (agriculturalists, traders, farmers ) and Shudras (workers, labourers, artisans).

Answer:

Varna system is system of classes. There are for classes (Brahmins, Kshatriyas, Vaishya, Shudra) at time of satyug and treta yug all were provided education according to their mind and interest. But in dwapara yug it slowly changed to Varna by birth. In starting kalyug, Hinduism again started class by birth But other religions developed and made classes by birth but now Varna system is only in the minds of people. No one is classified in developed countries. In developing countries also very less people do this. Varna system was not for discrimination but for smoothly functioning of society but gradually it became a rock in development of society.
