it is the secondary growth........it gives mechanical strength and support ....the early and late wood are spring wood and autumn wood.......the cambial rings are formed which based on this the tree age can be detected ...it is by annual rings......middle pith after to secondary pholem ( old ) to seconday pholem ( new ) to vescular cambium to primary xylem ( new ) to primary xylem ( old ) to pericycle to epidermis..........
