Vegetative reproduction is a type of asexual reproduction in plants. Asexual reproduction requires only one parent and vegetative reproduction also requires only one parent. Basically in vegetative reproduction offspring is produced from specialized vegetative organs. For e.g. bud in potato

It is used for agriculture. Potatoes can be grown from the buds. Ginger can be grown from rhizome. Onions can be grown from bulb.

1.VEGETATIVE PROPAGATION IS USED AS

this process makes possible the propagation of those plants that have lost the capacity to produce seeds

eg:banana,rose ,orange etc

2.the plants grown by this method yields flowers and fruits earlier than those produced from seeds.

3.the offsprings produced are very much similar to the parent plabt to have all its desired characteristics.

TWO USES:

it is used in the method of layering,grafting,cutting

it is used for the propagation of those plants that have lost the capaicty to produce seeds.
