Your notion of velocity is probably similar to its scientific definition. You know that a large displacement in a small amount of time means a large velocity and that velocity has units of distance divided by time, such as miles per hour or kilometers per hour.

Divide the total displacement by the total time. In order to find the velocity of the moving object, youwill need to divide the change in position by the change in time. Specify the direction moved, and you have the average velocity.

Hope it helps you!

royalnkumar007: what is acceleration
royalnkumar007: one more
Anonymous: In physics, acceleration is the rate of change of velocity of an object with respect to time
royalnkumar007: what is displacement
Anonymous: Displacement is defined to be the change in position of an object.

the velocity of an object is the rate of change of it's position with respect to a frame of reference with direction and velocity =distance / time with direction
