When you say I have walked 3 km It shows how much distance you travel.
Now when you said it like I have walked 3km in north. There is some sense of direction. It shows displacement.
Now when you says I could walk 3km(north) in one hour . It shows velocity. Thats means when you want to see the displacement in the reference of time then it is termed as velocity.
And if velocity also changes with respect to time there comes the acceleration
