Explanation:

Velocity is defined as the change in position of an object or displacement per unit time.

Velocity = displacement/time

Final velocity is denoted by v and initial velocity is denoted by u.

A man catches a ball moving with a velocity of 6 m/s. Here, final velocity is zero because the man catch the ball, whereas the initial velocity with which it was moving is 6 m/s.

Similarly, a car moving with a velocity of 4 m/s and then stop near a house. Here the initial velocity with which the car is moving is 4 m/s and finally it stops near a house, so that final velocity is zero.
