Velocity \: is \: defined \: as \: a \: vector \\ \: measurement \: of \: the \: rate \: and \: \\ direction \: of \: motion. \: \\ Put \: simply, \: velocity \: is \\ the \: speed \: at \: which \\ something \: moves \: in \: one \: direction. \\ The \: speed \: of \: a \: car \: traveling \: north \\ on \: a \: major \: freeway \: and \: the \\ speed \: a \: rocket \: launching \: into \\ \: space \: can \: both \: be \: measured \\ \: using \: velocity.

Answer:

Velocity is same as speed but the difference is of sign as velocity can be negative but speed cant

And speed is used for distance but velocity is for displacement which is shortest distance between two points, like for example we go somewhere and come back displacement will be zero and velocity will be +a for going and - a for coming so total velocity will be 0
