The distance travelled by an object at a particular direction and at a particular time is known as velocity.
The velocity is a vector quantity because it has a magnitude as well as direction.
SI unit of velocity is m/s.
Velocity =Distance travelled /Time taken.

hi friend!!

Velocity of a body is the distance travelled by it per unit time in a given direction.
velocity = distance travelled in a given direction/time taken
the SI unit of velocity is the same as that of the speed i.e., m/s or m s⁻²

hope it helps!!
