Explanation:

Plants having leaves with reticulate venation have tap roots while plants having leaves with parallel venation have fibrous roots. The stem conducts water from roots to the leaves (and other parts) and food from leaves to other parts of the plant.

If the leaf has parallel venation, the roots of the plant will be fibrous root and if the leaf has reticulate venation, the root is tap root. It is an interesting fact that the leaf venation and the type of roots in a plants are always related to each other.

Venation is how the veins of the plant are placed
The two types of venation reticulate venation (looks like a net)
and parallel venation (veins are parallel)
The relation between roots and types of venation
Fibrous root- reticulate venation
Tap root- parallel venation
