what is vertebrate and invertebrates animals?

Vertebrate: animals with a backbone are called vertebrates. The backbone is made up of several small bones called vertebrae. Example= fish, snake, birds.

Invertebrate: animals which do not have backbone or bony skeleton are called invertebrates. Example= amoeba, earthworm, snail.
