Displacement is the shortest distance between any two points

Velocity is dispalcement covered in unit time i.e. velocity=displacement\time

Acceleration is rate of change (increase)of velocity to find acceleration the formula is acceleration= final velocity -initial velocity \ time

Retardation is decrease in velocity

initial velocity is velocity when we start an final is just before stopping

Explanation:

The velocity of an object is the rate of change of its position with respect to a frame of reference, and is a function of time. Velocity is equivalent to a specification of an object's speed and direction of motion.

Acceleration is defined as the change in the velocity vector in a time interval, divided by the time interval. ... For example, if velocity is expressed in metres per second, acceleration will be expressed in metres per second per second.

Displacement is defined as the change in position of an object. ... It is represented as an arrow that points from the starting position to the final position. For example- If an object moves from A position to B, then the object's position changes. This change in position of an object is known as Displacement.
