Wadi, which is alternately known as the wad, is the Arabic word which is traditionally referred to a valley. In some situations, it may apply to a dry riverbed which carries water only during periods of heavy rainfall.
Wadis are found on the smoothly sloping, approximately flat parts of wastelands. Wadi shows braided water models because of the scarcity of water and the excess of sediments.
