Wastewater can contain physical, chemical and biological pollutants. Households may produce wastewater from flush toilets, sinks, dishwashers, washing machines, bath tubs, and showers. ... After treatment at a wastewater treatment plant, the treated wastewater (also called effluent) is discharged to a receiving water body.
