Water is a cyclic resource as it can be used over and over again but water once used for any domestic or industrial applications get easily polluted or contaminated .There are today water treatment like this chilling and recycling plant which remove these impurities in water and make it fit as resource again .

All the above three process involves purification but conservation is more than purification . It also mean protection prevention and efficient utilisation of water resource some of the important reservation techniques are :-

(i) Improving vegetation cover :-

Planting trees grass or even bushes help to check surface water run-off . It also helped in recharge of underground water .

(ii) Preventing Pollution :-

Prevent contamination of water by stopping discharge of effluents in water ,oil spills ,washing and cleaning on river bank or in streams.

(iii) Legislation:-

Use of pesticides in agriculture need to be banned by developing countries as has been done by developed countries .

(iv) Preventing wastes

(v) Preventing sanitation

(vi) Sprinkler irrigation:-

Sprinkle irrigation is also very effective because it also clean the standing crop of the accumulation . Water loss through evaporation is also checked .

(vii) Recharge of underground water :-

Nowadays rainwater harvesting and check them are used to charge and enhance the underground water level.It is the most effective method of meeting water need and preventing water shortage in a monsoon country like India .
