The water cycle shows the continuous movement of water within the Earth and atmosphere. It is a complex system that includes many different processes. Liquid water evaporates into water vapor, condenses to form clouds, and precipitates back to earth in the form of rain and snow.

Water Cycle is the complete cycle consisting of 5 steps that shows the formation of water on earth.

The steps are-

  1. Evaporation- The primary step of water cycle in which the watre present at the earth turns into water vapour. The water vapour moves from the hydrosphere to the atmosphere and reduces the temperature of the bodies.
  2. Condensation- Watervaporizes into water vapor and rises up in the atmosphere where it changes it to tiny particles of ice water droplets, which there after come together to form clouds and fogs. Here the gas changes to liquid.
  3. precipitaion- It occurs when the air can not hold any more water, i.e. it rains or snow.
  4. Runoff- The water falling on the earth surface in the form of prepitation runoffs the surface and ends up into lakes, seas, oceans.
  5. Percolstion- The water flows down the surface of the earth under the various layers of the soil.

This occurs continously and hence the water cycle on earth continues.
