Water molecules that form part of the structure of a crystal are called Water of crystallisation

When copper sulphate is heated then it's blue colour fades away and it turns from blue to white and become anhydrous copper sulphate (CuSO4)this happens because copper sulphate loses its water of crystallisation In this way we can show that copper sulphate contains water of crystallisation
