wave motion :- A kind of disturbance which travel through the medium due to repeat periodic motion of paticles of the medium about their mean positions , such that the medium doesn't travel along disturbance is Known as wave motion .

Hi friend,
Whenever a disturbance is produced in a medium, it travels from one part of the medium to other part of without transferring the medium itself.When the particles move due to repeat periodic motion and when the particles move from its mean position to other part and the material shows no disturbance is called as wave motion.
