- They are larger in size but lesser in number as compared to RBCs.
- They act as soilders by providing immunity.
- They have an unique property known as Diapedesis, which means the WBCs can squeeze into anything.
- They are amoeboid in nature. They can easily change their shape.
- They are basically two major groups of WBCs:- Granulocytes and Agranulocytes.
- Also known as Erythrocytes.
- They are smaller and biconcave in shape.
- After maturity, they are devoid of nucleus and membrane bound organelles to increase surface area.
- They contain a red pigment known as haemoglobin which carries oxygen in our blood. It also carries other gases as well.
- They are formed in the bone marrow and returns to spleen which is their graveyard
