White Blood Cells (WBCs) also known as leucocytes are the cells that assist in the ability of the Body's immune system to fight against disease or any other foreign bodies. They lacks haemoglobin.They are produce in the bone marrow and known as hematopoietic stem cells.
They are of different types. They are:-
- Granulocytes
- Monocytes
- Lymphocytes
★However the given types are further classified into smaller parts.
Granulocytes→neutrophils, eosinophils and basophyll
Lymphocytes→Tcells and B cells
The various functions of the white blood cells are:
- They protect us against disease
- They assist our immunity
- They keep a person active by resisting various viruses and bacteria which tries to enter our body.
