wilting is the loss of rigidity of non- Woody parts of plant. some plants show wilting of their leaves at noon even when the soil is well watered because during noon the rate of transpiration exceed the rate of absorption of water by roots due to excessive transpiration the cell of leaves loss their turgidity and wilt.
