What are winds ?
Winds generally blow from high-pressure areas to low-pressure areas. The boundary between these two areas is called a front. The complex relationships between fronts cause different types of wind and weather patterns. Prevailing winds are winds that blow from a single direction over a specific area of the Earth
Type of winds ---
- The trade winds
- The prevailing westerlies
- The polar easterlies
- The local winds
Explaintion of different types of winds --
1. The trade winds -- The trade winds or easterlies are the permanent east-to-west prevailing winds that flow in the Earth's equatorial region.
2. The prevailing westerlies -- The westerlies, anti-trades, or prevailing westerlies, are prevailing winds from the west toward the east in the middle latitudes between 30 and 60 degrees latitude. They originate from the high-pressure areas in the horse latitudes and trend towards the poles and steer extratropical cyclones in this general manner.
3. The polar Easterlies -- The polar easterlies are the dry, cold prevailing winds that blow around the high-pressure areas of the polar highs at the North and South Poles.
4. Local winds -- Local winds are winds that blow over a limited area. Local winds blow between small low and high pressure systems. They are influenced by local geography. Nearness to an ocean, lake, or mountain range can affect local winds

Wind is the movement of air , caused by the uneven heating of the Earth by the sun and the Earth's own rotation .
Planetary wind , prevailing wind or permanent wind are those which blow continuously in the same belt all through the year ..... These are three main types of planetary wind - the trade winds the Western lies and the easterlies . These winds are name according to the direction from which they blow
