The following things are written on the top of the editor's letter on the left-hand side:

Sender's address (in two lines)

(one line space)

date ( like 22 January 2022)

(one line space)

Receiver address ( in three lines)

(one line space)

Subject

(again one line space)

Salutation

(Note that in the sender's address, the two lines only should dictate the address. In the receiver's address, the first line should be written to state the designation of the person, the second line should state the name of the institution or organisation and the third should state the address.)

For example,

Civil Lines,

Civil Lines,New Delhi, 110054

22 January 2022

The editor

The Indian Express

The Indian ExpressNew Delhi, 110054

Subject: Noise pollution in our locality

Sir/Madam,

(This is the correct format to write the letter to the editor.)
