Hey mate,..

  • X-linked recessive genes are those which inherited by x-chromosomes so if out of the parents father is the carrier of color blindness disrase say X*Y (* FOR COLOR BLINDNESS) and mother is infected X*X* then the chance of child having color blindness is 75% .
  • X-linked inheritance are used to say as that the gene causing the trait or the disorder is located on the X chromosome.
  • The current estimate of sequenced X-linked genes is 499.
  • The total including vaguely defined traits is 983.

X-linked gene-

⚫️These are present on the portion of X-chromosomes for which thrre is a homologous region on Y-chromosom

For example-

  • Colour blindness
  • Haemophilia

✔️✔️Mostly males suffers from this disorder and the females are rarely affected.
