(x+y)^4 = (x+y)^2 × (x+y)^2)
= (x^2 + 2xy + y^2) × (x^2 + y^2 + 2xy)
= x^4 + x^2y^2 + 2x^3y + 2x^3y + 2xy^3 + 4x^2y^2 + x^2y^2 + y^4 +2xy^3
=x^4 + y^4 + 6x^2y^2 + 4x^3y + 4xy^3
hope it helps you.
