It is the type of complex permanent tissue. It is a vascular tissue and is composed of four different types of cells-

Tracheids

Vessels

Xylem parenchyma

Xylem fibres

All cells are dead excpet xylem parenchyma have thick lignified walls.

Functions-

it helps in transportation of water and minerals vetically.

Xylem parenchyma helps in storage of food help in lateral conduction of water.

Xylem is a tissue present in the stem of a plant

This tissues’ basic function is to provide water and minerals absorbed by the roots of the plant to all the parts of the plant

The xylem makes up a transport system with phloem is whats called the ‘Vascular system’

It is basically the transport system of plant
