Yanny or Laurel is an auditory illusion of a rerecording of a vocabulary word in addition to added background sounds which is mixed into the recording, as well, and which became popular in 2018 May.

EXPLANATION:

• The mixed rerecording was created by pupils who played the sound of a laurel wreath while the replay was recorded in the room in the background. In 2007, Jay Aubrey Jones, the opera singer, records the audio clip of "Laurel" as one of the 200,000 statement of reference that created and released in 2007.
• The clip was made at Jones' home using a microphone and laptop, with surrounding foam to help sound proof the recording.
