My whole life, I had people take care of me. I never had to do things on my own. I am the youngest of my family. Nobody really tries to put pressure on me when it comes to issues. But somehow I’m at a point in life where it feels like my life is just starting now. You know what I mean? I’m excited, but at the same time, I’m nervous. I’ll finally be living a life of my own and I’ll finally have power over my life.
But it’s hard. The thought of whether I’ll make it or not. I never got the chance to ever fully feel that I can do something or take care of something except for studying. This time, it’s not even something, it’s someone. A person. A life. And to my surprise, that person is me. Of course, I’m scared because every single decision I take will directly make an impact on me. But also I think that’s good because I get to learn a lot and there’s no way I’d become independent without it, right? I’m a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. To me, it also means that I’m being serious. I mean if I won’t be bothered about taking care of my life, then it might also mean that I don’t mean much to myself.
Everyday I’m afraid, but at the same time, I’ve always wanted to lead my life myself. There were times when my needs were neglected. There were times when I felt ignored. There were times when my advice wasn’t taken into account even if I was giving the right one. After all, what could be better than giving yourself everything you deserve?
