It often takes great confidence and a strong personality to be a powerful leader. However, most leaders eventually become over-confident, arrogant, and self-absorbed. In the thought-provoking poem by Percy Bysshe Shelley, Ozymandias is a fictitious emperor who serves as a symbol of such leaders. Such people do not realise that no man can live eternally. Physical strength/power, no matter how strong it is, never lasts. Only those who have done good deeds, live forever in the minds and hearts of other people.

The reflection of Ozymandias in a poem is as a man who was drunk with power pelf and authority . He had nothing but contempt for others . . He considered them just insignificant mortals . He claimed himself to be the kings of Kings . He was mighty proud of his great works and wonderful achievements . He threw a challenge to all the mighty and powerful persons of the world to compare themselves with him . They would be overawed by his great deeds and works. They would feel so insignificant and be in the deed despair
