My opinion about planting trees is :
When you plant a tree, you are planting for the future. With other types of plants we do not have to be so concerned about doing it correctly as they are not so difficult to move. With a tree the placement is so important as most of us do not live on a large property. A large shade tree on a little city lot can prove to be a hazard. Yes, the shade is delicious in the summer. However, a storm moving thru with strong winds, ice, or lots of snow will bring it or parts of it down. We have all experienced how devastating the consequences can be. As long as the tree is in proportion with the lot it is growing on, it can be a good thing.
